Vertiv Closes Deal For Ireland's King Environmental, Taking Cooling Field Services Into Europe

Vertiv, which makes and services the power and cooling gear that keeps data centers running, completed its purchase of King Environmental Services on Monday, extending its fluid-management services into Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Financial terms were not disclosed and are not expected to be material to Vertiv's results, the company said.

What King Environmental brings

King Environmental Services, or KES, was founded in 2002 and is headquartered near Dublin. It serves customers across the region from hubs in North Dublin and Frankfurt, according to the company's release.

Its work covers pipework flushing, filtration and water treatment, testing and balancing of systems, data logging and thermography, and large-scale thermal and electrical load testing. The firm positions itself as the bridge between construction and live operation for high-density, liquid-cooled data centers built for AI workloads.

Vertiv says the combination gives customers a single accountable partner for commissioning, testing, fluid management and ongoing operations. It also promises thermal load testing before a facility goes live and help meeting regional rules on fluid handling, treatment and disposal.

From PurgeRite to EMEA

The deal builds on Vertiv's North American fluid-management business, which rests on its 2025 acquisition of PurgeRite. KES carries that service line across the Atlantic.

CEO Giordano Albertazzi said cooling performance depends "not only on engineering and system design but on execution in the field." He said KES extends Vertiv's specialized expertise into EMEA as customers deploy more complex infrastructure at scale.

Vertiv designs, makes, sells, installs and services power and cooling equipment, software and support for data centers, communication networks and industrial sites. It is based in Westerville, Ohio, and says it does business in more than 130 countries.

Vertiv's next quarterly report may show how KES fits into its services business.
