ManpowerGroup Adds Former Pfizer Tech Chief Lidia Fonseca As 13th Director
The staffing company expands its board from twelve to thirteen seats, with Fonseca's service starting November 1.
ManpowerGroup, the workforce-services company, elected Lidia Fonseca to its board, growing it from twelve to thirteen directors, according to an 8-K filed Wednesday. Fonseca, a former Pfizer executive who led its enterprise AI program, begins service November 1.
A technology chief joins the board
The company appointed Fonseca on October 26, the filing says. She was Pfizer's Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Technology Officer from January 2019 to April 2026, and is now Senior Advisor to Pfizer's chief executive.
According to the press release, she ran Pfizer's AI, digital, data and technology strategy, plus Learning & Development and Business Process Excellence. She built the AI program from inception and scaled it across the enterprise, the company said.
Chair and CEO Jonas Prising said Fonseca brings "a rare combination of technology leadership, business transformation experience and a clear understanding of how AI can create value at scale." He added that her record of leading change strengthens the company's ability to "advance our transformation strategy."
Her résumé outside Pfizer
Fonseca sits on the board of Medtronic. Before Pfizer she spent a decade in diagnostics as senior vice president and chief information officer of Quest Diagnostics and, earlier, LabCorp. She started her career in operations and executive roles at Philips Healthcare.
She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA and a Master of Business Informatics from Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University.
Pay and committee seats
Fonseca has not been placed on any board committee. She will receive the same pay as other non-employee directors: an annual cash retainer of $120,000, which a director can elect to take as deferred stock, and an annual deferred-stock grant with a grant-date fair value of about $180,000, or restricted stock if elected. Her 2026 retainer and grant will be prorated, and travel costs for meetings are reimbursed.
The filing says she has no family ties to any director or executive officer and no related-party transactions with the company since January 1, 2025.
ManpowerGroup sells recruiting, temporary and contract staffing, assessment, training and workforce consulting under its Manpower, Experis and Talent Solutions brands. It operates in more than 70 countries and territories.
Fonseca's term starts November 1, when the board reaches thirteen directors.
