Fujifilm Sonosite Lands Ultrasound Contract With $957.7 Million Ceiling, Shared Field Expected
The Pentagon contract tops out at $957.7 million, and other awardees are expected to compete for a portion of that maximum.
Fujifilm Sonosite, of Bothell, Washington, was awarded a maximum $957,714,000 contract for ultrasound systems, components and accessories, the Department of War announced Thursday. That figure is the ceiling on what the government may order, and other companies are expected to win contracts under the same solicitation.
A ceiling, not a payment
The deal is a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, meaning orders and money come later, one order at a time. The announcement states no amount obligated at award.
The Department said other contracts are expected under solicitation SPE2D1-26-R-0002, and the awardees will compete for a portion of the maximum dollar value. Fujifilm Sonosite is therefore not assured the full $957,714,000.
The Defense Logistics Agency received 25 responses in the competitive acquisition.
Who can order, and for how long
Using customers are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. The contracting activity is Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The contract has a five-year base period and one five-year option period. Its ordering period ends Oct. 28, 2036. It is funded from fiscal 2027 through 2032 defense working capital funds.
The ordering window on this contract runs through Oct. 28, 2036, with other awards under the same solicitation still expected.
