Eton CEO Says Pipeline Will Make Today's Record Business Look 'Inconsequential' Within A Few Years
Eton's CEO pitched nine pipeline programs and bigger deals after revenue of $57.9 million, and explained why guidance stays conservative.
Eton Pharmaceuticals, which develops and sells rare-disease treatments, just posted $57.9 million of quarterly revenue, up 158% from a year earlier. CEO Sean Brynjelsen told the company's third-quarter earnings call that he believes the pipeline "will make our current levels look inconsequential within a few years."
Nine programs, three possible 2027 launches
Brynjelsen said the pipeline now holds nine programs. Three could launch in 2027, and four carry more than $100 million of revenue potential, in his words.
The newest, ET900, would test the active ingredient in Increlex against infantile spasms, using patents licensed from Baylor College of Medicine. He said a proof-of-concept study would cost under $1 million, with enrollment starting in the first quarter of 2027 and preliminary data possible by mid-2027.
ASN001, a topical hemangioma treatment, could become the largest product in the portfolio, he said. A 28-day bioavailability study begins dosing in January, an NDA, the FDA approval application, is planned for the middle of 2027, and approval and launch could follow in 2028.
The Kindivi label expansion has a May 28, 2027 target action date. In ET700, the extended-release zinc candidate, treatment-related adverse events hit one of 12 participants versus eight of 12 on Galzin. It blocked copper absorption less well than Galzin, so Eton plans faster-release formulations in 2027.
Libervant and a push into pediatric neurology
Eton licensed Libervant, a buccal film for seizure clusters in epilepsy, and is awaiting FDA approval. An application to add ages 6 to 11 has a late-March decision date, and Eton anticipates an April 2027 launch if approved.
Chief Commercial Officer Ipek said the dedicated sales force will likely be under 20 people, targeting about 2,000 pediatric neurologists. Brynjelsen put the nasal and rectal rescue market at more than $450 million a year in the U.S.
Why guidance stays conservative
Eton now expects 2026 revenue above $175 million, up from more than $145 million, and an adjusted EBITDA margin above 40%. Third-quarter adjusted EBITDA was $28.5 million, 49% of revenue, and cash ended at $55.6 million.
An analyst asked why guidance was not higher. Brynjelsen answered, "Trust is the most important aspect of what we do at the company," adding that Eton gives numbers it knows it can meet.
He said recent success has lifted inbound deal flow and Eton can pursue deals "substantially larger than what we have done historically," still in late-stage or commercial rare-disease assets. The company passed its $200 million annualized revenue goal, set for the end of 2027, five quarters early. Asked what replaces the targets, he said the $500 million goal for 2030 will be updated "when the time is right."
Next up is the FDA's late-March decision on Libervant's label, with an April 2027 launch planned if it clears.
