ClearPoint Neuro Revenue Jumps 36% To $12.1 Million On IRRAflow, But Net Loss Widens To $7.5 Million

ClearPoint Neuro, which makes systems for minimally invasive brain surgery, said third-quarter revenue rose 36% to $12.1 million from $8.9 million a year earlier, lifted by the IRRAflow line it bought with IRRAS. The net loss widened to $7.5 million, or $0.24 per share, from $5.9 million, or $0.21, in an 8-K filed Wednesday.

Where the growth came from

Neurosurgery navigation and therapy revenue, mostly disposables used in cases with the ClearPoint and IRRAflow systems, rose 59% to $5.4 million from $3.4 million. The company said the gain came mainly from IRRAflow sales; it bought IRRAS in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Capital equipment and software revenue climbed 68% to $1.7 million from $1.0 million, which the company called a record. Biologics and drug delivery revenue rose 11% to $4.9 million from $4.4 million, mostly from services at ClearPoint Advanced Laboratories.

The company also said one partner submitted the first formal biologics license application, an FDA approval filing, for a Huntington's disease treatment.

Margins thin as costs climb

Gross margin slipped to 58% from 63%, which the company blamed on overhead at the new ClearPoint Advanced Laboratories facility and extra amortization of acquired intangibles. Operating expenses rose 23% to $13.4 million from $10.9 million, mainly from the IRRAS deal: more clinical and sales staff, plus higher occupancy and travel costs.

CEO Joe Burnett said revenue growth of 36% outpaced expense growth of 23%, as finishing the IRRAflow integration "has enabled improved operating leverage." Interest expense for the quarter was $1.4 million, up from $0.9 million.

Cash, guidance and the stock sales

Cash and equivalents stood at $46.2 million at September 30, against $45.9 million at December 31, 2025. Net proceeds of $22.0 million from the company's at-the-market stock offering program were largely offset by $20.1 million used in operations over the first nine months of 2026.

The company now estimates 2026 revenue of $48.0 million to $50.0 million. Its investor presentation shows 2025 revenue of $37.0 million.

Management discussed the results on a call at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Wednesday. A replay runs until November 27.

Over the first nine months, revenue reached $35.1 million against $26.6 million a year earlier, while the net loss grew to $28.3 million from $17.8 million.
