Army Expands Ashbritt’s Emergency Response Contract Capacity By $500 Million

The Army added $500 million in emergency response capacity to Ashbritt’s existing contract through a $500 million modification Friday, the Department of War said in its daily contract announcement. The change extends the ordering period; funding will be determined for each order rather than committed through the capacity increase.

Emergency work funded by order

Ashbritt, based in Deerfield Beach, Florida, received the modification for emergency response requirements. The government will decide both where the work takes place and how much funding to provide when it places individual orders.

ECC Constructors also received a $500 million modification Friday for the same purpose. The companies therefore received parallel capacity increases, rather than Ashbritt receiving an exclusive allocation.

Nine bids for Ashbritt’s contract

The online solicitation for Ashbritt’s contract drew nine bids. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, is the contracting activity.

The modified Ashbritt contract has an estimated completion date of Feb. 17, 2027.
