Trinity Capital Lined Up $880 Million Of New Commitments In Third Quarter, Versus $614 Million Actually Funded
Trinity Capital's pre-earnings update shows $614 million funded and $495 million returned in the quarter; full results are due November 4.
Trinity Capital originated $880 million of new commitments in the third quarter, bringing the first three quarters of 2026 to $2.0 billion, the company said in an 8-K filed Thursday. Of that, about $614 million was actually funded in the quarter, and about $495 million came back through repayments and exits.
What the quarter looked like
Gross investments funded in the third quarter totaled about $614 million: $378 million in secured loans, $159 million in equipment financings and $77 million in warrant and equity investments.
The $880 million of commitments split into $534 million of secured loans, $270 million of equipment financings and $76 million of equity investments, according to the press release attached to the filing.
By destination, about $432 million went to 15 new portfolio companies, $118 million to 24 existing ones and $64 million to multi-sector holdings.
Money coming back
Repayments and exits returned about $495 million in the quarter. That included $237 million from debt investments sold, $195 million from early repayments and refinancings, $57 million from scheduled or amortizing payments and $6 million from warrant and equity exits.
Funding therefore ran ahead of money returned in the quarter, $614 million against $495 million.

Through the first three quarters, gross investments funded were about $1.5 billion: $1.1 billion in secured loans, $322 million in equipment financings and $131 million in warrant and equity investments. Commitments were about $2.0 billion.
About $927 million went to 36 new portfolio companies and $526 million to 35 existing ones, with $86 million to multi-sector holdings.
Repayments and exits were about $1.1 billion over the nine months, including $523 million from early repayments and refinancings, $381 million from debt investments sold, $184 million from scheduled payments and $22 million from warrant and equity exits.
