Supernus CEO Calls 400 Onapgo Forms A Quarter A Good Run Rate — 'Stay Tuned' For More

Supernus Pharmaceuticals, which develops and sells medicines for central nervous system diseases, sees new patient enrollment forms for its Parkinson's drug Onapgo running around 400 to 425 a quarter, CEO Jack Khattar told analysts on the company's third-quarter earnings call. Onapgo net sales were $17.1 million, up 27% from the second quarter, he said.

A run rate that has not budged

Asked by a Stifel analyst whether 400 forms is a fair starting point, Khattar said volume has been "around the 400, 425" and "bounces around a little bit." He added that "it looks like it's a good run rate as an assumption," while saying the company is working to push it higher.

A Bank of America analyst asked whether he was surprised that forms had not picked up meaningfully since the supply shortage ended. Khattar said it "wasn't surprising" because the company was relaunching after pausing heavy launch activity for three or four months.

He said he is pleased with the levels but would "love to have more." Khattar said the backlog is cleared, processing from form to shipment is back to normal timing, and conversion from form to shipment has improved a little. Those gains could help the number go "beyond the 400," he said. "Stay tuned to any updates," he told analysts.

Demand and exclusivity

Onapgo prescriptions grew 17% in the third quarter from the second quarter, Khattar said, and he described demand as healthy. The FDA has recognized seven years of orphan drug exclusivity for the drug in treating motor fluctuations in adults with advanced Parkinson's disease, he said. Supernus has also filed a supplemental application for a second source of supply, with approval expected by mid-year 2027.

Merger and raised outlook

Supernus raised its 2026 standalone guidance. Chief Financial Officer Tim Deck said total revenue is now expected at $875 million to $900 million, up from $860 million to $890 million. Adjusted operating earnings are expected at $160 million to $180 million, up from $150 million to $180 million.

Third-quarter total revenue was a record $226.8 million, up 18% from a year earlier. GAAP net earnings were $20.9 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, against a loss of $45.1 million a year earlier.

Khattar said shareholders of Supernus and Indivior approved the merger on October 15, and the deal is expected to close on November 2. That would end the standalone guidance, and combined 2027 guidance is planned for February.

Khattar said the company expects to provide combined 2027 guidance in February, alongside fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 results.
