Opera Revenue Rises 20% To $182.8 Million, With Adjusted EBITDA Above Guidance
The browser maker also said its desktop users hit 100 million in October, and it will report full results on November 17.
Opera, which makes web browsers including Opera One and Opera GX, said third-quarter revenue rose 20% from a year earlier to $182.8 million, at the top of its $181–183 million guidance range. Adjusted EBITDA of $43.2 million beat the high end of its $41–43 million range, the company said Tuesday in a preview of results.
Both revenue lines grew
Adjusted EBITDA, the company's own earnings measure that strips out items it says are not core to operations, equaled a 24% margin. Opera reconciled it from IFRS net income of $27.6 million, adding $5.5 million of income tax, $5.7 million of depreciation and amortization and $6.9 million of share-based pay. Smaller items included $0.5 million of losses from equity-accounted investees and $0.4 million of net finance expense. An impairment reversal of $3.3 million and $0.1 million of other operating income were deducted.
CFO Frode Jacobsen said query revenue grew 17% and advertising revenue 22% from a year earlier. Query revenue comes from search distribution; Opera's profile lists a share of search revenue from providers such as Google and Yandex, and advertising sold through its Opera Ads platform.
Desktop users hit 100 million
Opera's desktop browsers reached 100 million monthly active users in October, a new high, the company said. That is up 16% from October 2025 and from 94 million in the second quarter of 2026.
The company calls desktop its highest-revenue-per-user platform. CEO Song Lin said Opera is "in an increasingly strategic position as new AI tools and workstreams are adopted by users," and that it is focused on making AI widely accessible through local browser capabilities.
Opera, based in Oslo, Norway, also makes Opera Mini, the AI browser Opera Neon, and the MiniPay stablecoin wallet. Its market value was about $1.3 billion as of the Tuesday morning report.
Why results came early
Jacobsen said the later-than-usual reporting date prompted the company to share the third-quarter highlights now. He said the timeline lets Opera assess trends and approach its final fourth-quarter guidance "with our typical prudence."
Opera will publish full third-quarter results before the market opens on November 17, with a call that day at 8:00 a.m. Eastern.
