Hyatt Stock Soars 7%, Adding $1.2 Billion, As Company Lifts 2026 RevPAR Outlook
Hyatt swung to a profit and raised its full-year outlook, but all-inclusive resorts weakened and revenue fell about 2.4%.
Hyatt Hotels, which runs and licenses hotels and resorts under brands such as Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency, saw its shares climb 7.33% to $186.06 in Thursday trading, as of 3:30 p.m. ET, after it swung to a profit and raised its RevPAR forecast to 5% to 5.5%. The gain added about $1.2 billion in market value.
Fees up, all-inclusives down
The move came on the day Hyatt reported third-quarter results. RevPAR, the revenue earned per available room, is the measure behind the raised full-year outlook.
Gross fees grew 15.2% to $327 million. Third-quarter revenue was $1.743 billion, down about 2.4% from a year earlier even as fees and profit improved.
All-inclusive resorts lagged. Net package RevPAR fell 2.5% on softer demand in Mexican destinations.
A bigger payout forecast
Hyatt also raised its full-year forecast for shareholder returns through dividends and buybacks to $375 million to $425 million, according to the company's results. It declared a quarterly dividend of 15 cents per share, payable Dec. 7 to holders of record as of Nov. 23.
The stock was on pace for its third straight daily gain and its biggest one-day gain in at least 275 trading sessions, since Sept. 25, 2025.
A stock still trailing the market
Hyatt earns money from management, franchising and hotel services fees, brand licensing, hotels it owns and leases, and distribution services. At December 31, 2025, its portfolio had 1,528 hotels and all-inclusive resorts with 372,763 rooms.
Before Thursday's session, the shares were up about 8% year to date as of Wednesday's close, trailing the S&P 500's gain of about 13%, and sat well below their 52-week high of $206.86.
In the quarter ended June 30, Hyatt posted revenue of $1.8 billion, up 1.2% from a year earlier, with net income of $110 million.
Hyatt's dividend of 15 cents a share is payable Dec. 7 to holders of record as of Nov. 23.
