Entera Bio Adds Organon's Research Chief To Its Board As Director Haya Taitel Steps Down

Entera Bio, a clinical-stage developer of oral tablet versions of peptide drugs, appointed Dr. Juan Camilo Arjona Ferreira to its board on Tuesday. He currently runs research and development at Organon and replaces director Haya Taitel, who is stepping down; both changes take effect December 1.

A Class II seat and pay committee role

Arjona Ferreira, 57, becomes a Class II director and will serve until the company's 2027 annual shareholder meeting. He will also sit on the board's compensation committee, and the board determined he is independent under SEC and Nasdaq rules.

He will take part in the standard non-employee director pay program, which shareholders most recently approved in July 2026. It includes annual cash payments for board and committee service and annual equity grants under the 2018 Equity Incentive Plan.

Taitel notified the board Tuesday that she would leave. Her departure was not the result of any disagreement with the company over operations, policies or practices, the filing says.

A women's health drug developer's résumé

Arjona Ferreira is Head of Research & Development and Chief Medical Officer at Organon, where he leads a global research organization focused on women's health. Before that he was chief medical officer at Myovant Sciences, senior vice president of clinical development at Shionogi, and spent more than a decade at Merck, finishing as executive director of clinical research in women's health. He began his career as an obstetrician and gynecologist.

CEO Miranda Toledano said in the press release that his "track record in late-stage development and regulatory approvals" fits Entera's plans for EB613 in osteoporosis and for EB612, which is set to enter early clinical development in hypoparathyroidism.

The pipeline he is joining

Entera has no approved products. Its N-Tab platform aims to turn injected peptide therapies into tablets, and EB613, an oral teriparatide tablet, is its lead candidate. A placebo-controlled Phase 2 study of EB613 in 161 patients met its main and secondary goals, the company said.

Arjona Ferreira called EB613 a "paradigm-shifting oral bone-forming treatment" with potential to expand care for millions of osteoporosis patients, most of them postmenopausal women. Other programs include an oral GLP-1/glucagon candidate for obesity and an oral GLP-2 tablet for short bowel syndrome, developed with OPKO.

Both board changes take effect December 1, when Arjona Ferreira's seat begins and Taitel's exit becomes final.
