Entera Bio Adds Ex-Gilead Commercial Head Laura Hamill To Board As 16-Year Director Malca Steps Down
An 8-K says Hamill, who led about 2,500 Gilead staff, takes a Class I seat on December 1, 2026, replacing Yonatan Malca.
Entera Bio named former Gilead Sciences executive Laura Hamill to its board, effective December 1, 2026, according to an 8-K filed Tuesday. She succeeds Yonatan Malca, who told the board the same day he will step down on the same date.
What the 8-K says
Hamill, 62, becomes a Class I director and will serve until the 2027 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. She will also sit on the audit committee and the corporate governance and nomination committee, both effective December 1, 2026.
The board has determined she is independent under SEC and Nasdaq rules. The filing says no arrangement or understanding with any other person led to her appointment, and it reports no related-party transaction involving her since the start of the company's last fiscal year.
She will receive the standard non-employee director pay, which shareholders last approved in July 2026: annual cash payments for board and committee service, plus annual equity grants under the 2018 Equity Incentive Plan.
Malca's departure, the filing says, was not the result of any disagreement with the company on operations, policies or practices.
Her résumé
Hamill most recently served as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Commercial Operations at Gilead Sciences, where, according to the company's press release, she led about 2,500 employees responsible for $22 billion in annual revenue.
Before Gilead she spent nearly two decades at Amgen. As senior vice president of U.S. commercial business operations, she oversaw activities representing about 80% of Amgen's revenue, and she also ran its Intercontinental Region across 26 countries.
She currently sits on the boards of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, BB Biotech AG and Fate Therapeutics. She previously served on the boards of Acceleron Pharma, Pardes Biosciences and Y-mAbs Therapeutics.
What it changes
The seat moves from a director whose tenure ran 16 years to a commercial specialist. CEO Miranda Toledano said Entera is entering "an important new chapter of late-stage clinical execution, commercial preparedness for EB613 and advancement of our broader pipeline."
EB613 is Entera's oral osteoporosis tablet. The company says a placebo-controlled mid-stage study of 161 participants met its main goal, a bone-turnover biomarker, and a secondary goal, bone mineral density.
Toledano thanked Malca for his service, saying his leadership helped guide the company "from its inception through a period of meaningful growth and transformation."
Entera shares closed at $2.62 on Monday, down about 8% on that session, before the 8:00 a.m. ET Tuesday disclosure (market data).
Both board changes take effect December 1, 2026, and Hamill's term runs to the 2027 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
