Cardinal Health Wins Three Of Six Pentagon Medical Supply Contracts, Led By A $1.50 Billion Award
Six parallel supply contracts for the military's Medical Surgical Prime Vendor program went to three firms, with ordering open through Dec. 6, 2029.
Cardinal Health, of Waukegan, Illinois, holds three of six contracts the Department of War announced Tuesday for the Medical Surgical Prime Vendor program. The largest of its three is a $1,500,444,621 contract, the biggest single figure among the six.
Three firms, six contracts
Cardinal Health's other two awards are $1,115,633,464 and $82,388,528. McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions LLC, of Henrico, Virginia, holds one contract at $741,496,756.
Concordance Healthcare Solutions LLC, of Tiffin, Ohio, holds two, at $166,716,069 and $123,959,274. Each award is a separate contract number under the same solicitation, so the figures are not one company's single total.
The Department said each firm received a fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. Under that structure, money is committed one order at a time as customers place them.
Who can order, and for how long
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, based in Philadelphia, ran a competitive acquisition and received eight responses. The contracts carry a two-year six-month base period and three two-year six-month option periods.
The ordering period ends Dec. 6, 2029.
The using customers are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Defense Health Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Health and Human Services. The work is paid from fiscal 2027 through 2030 defense working capital funds.
Ordering under all six contracts runs through Dec. 6, 2029.
