BlackRock Unit Reports 6.3% Passive Stake In Delcath Systems
The 2.18 million-share position is held for passive purposes, with BlackRock certifying it is not aimed at influencing control.
BlackRock Portfolio Management holds 2,180,493 shares of Delcath Systems, or 6.3% of the common stock, according to a passive ownership disclosure filed Tuesday. Delcath is an interventional oncology company focused on liver cancers, based in Queensbury, N.Y.
Voting power and the passive label
BlackRock Portfolio Management has sole voting power over 2,018,673 of the shares, and the filing lists no shared voting power. The stake is reported as of September 30, 2026, and the filing classifies the holder as a parent or holding company.
BlackRock certified that the shares were acquired and are held in the ordinary course of business, not to change or influence control of Delcath. The filing says it reflects holdings of certain BlackRock business units, and an exhibit lists BlackRock entities including BlackRock Fund Advisors and BlackRock Institutional Trust Company.
Various persons have the right to receive dividends or sale proceeds from the shares, the filing says, and no one person's interest is more than 5% of the outstanding common stock.
A liver-cancer drug-device maker
Delcath's lead product, HEPZATO KIT, is FDA-approved as a drug for adults with metastatic uveal melanoma and unresectable liver metastases, and it carries a boxed warning, the company said. In Europe the device-only version is sold as the CHEMOSAT Hepatic Delivery System, regulated as a Class III medical device.
Delcath shares closed at $14.75 in Tuesday trading, giving the company a market value of $503 million.
