Aura Minerals Reports Record 95,557 Gold-Equivalent Ounces For Third Quarter, With Borborema And MSG Leading

Aura Minerals produced a preliminary 95,557 gold equivalent ounces (GEO) in the third quarter of 2026, a record, the company said in a release furnished to the SEC on Form 6-K on Friday. That is 27% above the second quarter and 29% above the third quarter of 2025, at current metal prices.

What the release says

GEO converts silver, copper and molybdenum output into gold using price ratios. At constant prices, which remove the effect of metal-price swings, output rose 26% from the second quarter and 25% from a year earlier.

Sales in the quarter totaled 93,742 GEO, up 20% from the second quarter. Excluding MSG, sales rose 7% from a year earlier, mainly on Borborema and Aranzazu. Including MSG, they rose 25%.

Nine-month production reached 253,131 GEO at current prices, which the company called the highest nine-month total in its history. Over the last twelve months, production was 335,198 GEO, another record and up 27% from the twelve-month period ending with the third quarter of 2025.

Mine by mine

Borborema produced 22,842 GEO, a quarterly record and 60% above the second quarter, on grades that rose from 1.16 g/t to 1.65 g/t. It was roughly 24% of Aura's total. Compared with the third quarter of 2025, its output was up 124%.

MSG produced 13,321 GEO, up 85% from the second quarter, as grade rose from 0.90 g/t to 1.19 g/t and plant feed climbed 28%. Aranzazu produced 24,920 GEO, up 39% from the second quarter and 16% from a year earlier, on higher grades.

Three mines trailed the prior year:

  • Minosa made 13,344 GEO, down 26% from a year earlier and 7% from the second quarter, still tied to a higher stacking level on its leach pad.
  • Almas made 14,264 GEO, down 5% from a year earlier and 12% from the second quarter, on lower grades after its plant expansion.
  • Apoena made 6,865 GEO, down 26% from a year earlier on lower plant feed and recovery, though up 20% from the second quarter.

What management expects

CEO and President Rodrigo Barbosa said, "As expected, Q3 was a clear step up from Q2, and with the further increase we expect in Q4 we remain on track to meet our full-year guidance."

He said stacking volumes at Minosa had returned to normal in the third quarter, Almas mine sequencing moves into higher-grade areas, and Apoena's higher-grade Nosde pit areas will be the main ore source in the fourth quarter. At the Era Dorada project, he said construction is on time and on budget, at 13.1% overall physical progress.

The company stressed that the figures are preliminary and final results may differ. Aura's U.S.-listed shares closed at $82.49 on Thursday, before the release.

Final third-quarter results may differ from these preliminary figures, and the company expects output to rise again in the fourth quarter.
