Arch Capital Director Moira Kilcoyne Resigns From Board, Effective Immediately
Arch says her exit was not over any disagreement on operations, policies or practices.
Moira Kilcoyne resigned from the board of Arch Capital Group on Monday, with the resignation effective immediately, the Bermuda insurer disclosed in an 8-K filed Thursday. The company said she did not leave over a disagreement with Arch on operations, policies or practices.
A resignation with no dispute behind it
Kilcoyne stepped down on October 26 from her seat as a member of the Arch board of directors. The company reported the departure on Thursday under the 8-K item that covers director departures.
Arch stated plainly that her resignation was not because of a disagreement with the company on any matter relating to its operations, policies or practices. A statement of that kind is the one companies must address when a director leaves, and Arch put it in the filing's text.
The board and management thanked Kilcoyne for her service and contributions. They pointed to her extensive financial services experience, which they said has supported the business through a period of strong financial performance.
The insurer she leaves behind
Arch Capital, which trades on Nasdaq under the symbol ACGL, provides insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance worldwide through its subsidiaries, with a focus on specialty lines. Reinsurance is insurance that other insurers buy to cover part of their risk.
The company runs three underwriting segments: insurance, reinsurance and mortgage. Its 2025 annual report shows about $26.9 billion in capital at December 31, 2025, and $16.5 billion of net premiums written for the year.
The mortgage group serves lenders and mortgage originators in the U.S., Europe, the U.K. and Australia. Insurance products are sold mainly through independent retail and wholesale brokers.
Kilcoyne's exit took effect the day she resigned, October 26, and Arch reported it three days later.
