The instruments maker lifted its full-year adjusted outlook from $8.20 to $8.30 after sales rose 17% and it closed the Indicor Instrumentation deal.
AMETEK, which makes electronic instruments and electromechanical devices, raised its 2026 adjusted earnings forecast to $8.53 to $8.57 a share, up from $8.20 to $8.30, after record third-quarter sales of $2.22 billion, the company said Tuesday. Adjusted operating income rose 20% to $594.7 million, and the adjusted operating margin was 26.8%, up 0.6 percentage points. Operating cash flow rose 27% to $560.6 million, and free cash flow equaled 124% of net income, up from 113% a year earlier.

Indicor adds $5 billion of debt
Chairman and CEO David A. Zapico said the quarter included completing the purchase of Indicor Instrumentation, "an outstanding group of highly differentiated industrial technology businesses." He said the raised outlook reflects the third quarter, the fourth-quarter outlook and the expected Indicor contribution.
The balance sheet shows the effect. Long-term debt stood at $6.03 billion on September 30, against $1.07 billion at the end of 2025, and goodwill grew to $10.21 billion from $7.17 billion.
Guidance for the final quarter
For all of 2026, AMETEK now expects sales up in the mid-teens and adjusted earnings up about 15% from 2025.
For the fourth quarter, it expects sales up in the low 20% range and adjusted earnings of $2.26 to $2.30 per share, up 12% to 14% from the fourth quarter of 2025.
Fourth-quarter results will show whether AMETEK delivers the $2.26 to $2.30 per share it has now guided.
