Amentum Service Inc. won a $608,999,219 firm-fixed-price Army contract to supply at least 500 full-time equivalent personnel for Department of War industrial base operations at key depots, the Department said Thursday. Of that face value, $121,946,770 was obligated at award, and the Army received just one bid.

Face value versus money committed

The contract is for a supplemental workforce of at least 500 full-time equivalent personnel to sustain organic industrial base operations across key depots. The Department described the award as firm-fixed-price, meaning the price is set rather than reimbursed on cost.

The obligated amount, $121,946,770, comes from fiscal 2027 consolidated working fund, Army, engineers, civil funds. That is the money committed now; the $608,999,219 is the contract's face value.

Bids were solicited via the internet, and one was received. Work will be performed in Texarkana, Texas, with completion estimated for Nov. 12, 2031. Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity.

Where it fits at Amentum

Amentum, which provides engineering and technology services to the U.S. government, allied governments and commercial customers, had a market value of $5.4 billion as of Thursday's report. Its 10-K for the fiscal year ended October 3, 2025 shows about 81% of revenue came from direct contracts with U.S. government agencies.

The company reported $47.1 billion of backlog as of that date and about 50,000 employees in more than 70 countries. It reports two segments, Digital Solutions and Global Engineering Solutions.

The contract's estimated completion date is Nov. 12, 2031, and Amentum Service is the awardee named by the Department.
