Stellantis Third-Quarter Shipments Edge Down 1% To 1.3 Million Units As North America Falls 12%
Planned summer plant shutdowns cut North American volume, while battery-electric growth and Leapmotor lifted Europe 10%.
Stellantis estimated its third-quarter consolidated shipments at 1.3 million units, down 1% from a year earlier, in a release dated Tuesday and furnished to the SEC on Form 6-K. Planned summer production shutdowns in North America outweighed battery-electric growth in Europe.
What the release says
Shipments, which the company defines as vehicles delivered to dealers, distributors or directly to retail and fleet customers, covered the three months ended September 30, 2026. The company said the figures are unaudited and may be adjusted.
North America fell by about 47 thousand units, or 12%, mainly because of planned downtime that hit certain Jeep models. Grand Cherokee and Compass were each down about 25 thousand units. Ram partly offset that, up about 17 thousand units on new and refreshed products and added powertrains, including the Ram 1500 light-duty HEMI V8 and the new Ram 1500 TRX.
Enlarged Europe rose by about 54 thousand units, or 10%, led by battery-electric vehicles. Among Stellantis brands, the biggest gain was about 26 thousand units from Smart Car platform nameplates such as the Citroën C3 and C3 Aircross, Opel/Vauxhall Frontera and Fiat Grande Panda. The new Fiat 500 Hybrid added about 6 thousand units, the new Jeep Compass about 5 thousand, and light commercial vehicles about 7 thousand. Other models, including Opel Corsa, Opel Mokka, Citroën C4, Alfa Romeo Junior and Peugeot 2008, fell about 28 thousand units combined.
Leapmotor-branded shipments rose by about 34 thousand units to 44 thousand, supported by the B10 and B03X launches.
The other regions
Middle East & Africa shipments fell about 20 thousand units, or 21%. Türkiye was down about 21 thousand units on weaker market conditions and fewer imported vehicles, tied to the planned launch in October 2026 of local small-van production there. Algeria and Morocco more than offset lower Gulf Cooperation Council volumes, which the company said were hit by the regional conflict.
South America slipped about 1 thousand units: Brazil rose about 13 thousand on favorable industry conditions, but Argentina fell about 11 thousand. Asia Pacific shipments were 15 thousand units, down about 6%, mainly on lower volumes in Japan, partly offset by India.
What it changes for holders
Shipments generally drive revenue recognition, according to the company, so the North American dip and the European gain feed directly into reported sales. In Tuesday trading, as of 3:19 p.m. ET, the shares were at $4.49, up 2.51% versus the prior close.
Since January 1, 2026, Maserati is no longer a separate reportable segment and its shipments are counted on a "where sold" basis, with comparatives restated. Consolidated figures include Leapmotor International, which Stellantis owns 51% and Leapmotor 49%.
The next marker in the release is October 2026, when Stellantis plans to start local small-van production in Türkiye.
