SCI Director Victor Lund To Retire From Board After 27 Years, As Five Executives' Contracts Are Extended
The funeral operator also declared a 36-cent quarterly dividend, payable December 31, 2026.
Victor L. Lund, a director of Service Corporation International, will retire from the board after 27 years of service, the company said in an 8-K filed Wednesday. The funeral and cemetery operator also extended the employment agreements of five named executive officers through 2027.
A 27-year board tenure ends in 2027
Lund told the company on November 3 that he has decided to step down when his term expires at the 2027 Annual Shareholder Meeting. He remains a director until then.
SCI, which provides funeral, cemetery and cremation services in North America, operated 1,491 funeral service locations and 506 cemeteries at September 30, 2026, the company said in its dividend release. It describes itself as the largest provider of deathcare products and services in North America and its Dignity Memorial brand is among its best known.
Five executives locked in through 2027
Also on November 3, OFTC, a subsidiary of SCI, notified Thomas L. Ryan, Eric D. Tanzberger, Sumner J. Waring, III, Elisabeth G. Nash and John H. Faulk that their employment agreements now run to December 31, 2027.
All five are named executive officers. The filing points readers to the company's proxy statement of March 26, 2026 for the material terms of their agreements, in the sections on executive compensation tables and further executive compensation practices and policies.
A 36-cent dividend on the calendar
The board declared a quarterly cash dividend of 36 cents per share on November 4. It is payable on December 31, 2026 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2026.
SCI said it intends to keep paying regular quarterly dividends for the foreseeable future, but each later payout, and its record and payment dates, remains subject to the board's review of financial performance every quarter.
Anyone who wants the 36-cent dividend must hold shares at the close of business on December 15.
