Porch Previews 2027 Target Of More Than $180 Million In Adjusted EBITDA, Counting Allied Trust

Porch Group, the homeowners insurance and home-software company, has set an internal 2027 target of more than $180 million of adjusted EBITDA excluding the reciprocal, CEO Matt Ehrlichman said on the company's third-quarter earnings call Wednesday. The combined-company figure assumes a full year of the pending Allied Trust acquisition.

A baseline before guidance

The same 2027 target includes more than $900 million of reciprocal written premium and more than 360,000 reciprocal policies written, Ehrlichman said. Porch normally issues next-year guidance a quarter later, but he said management wanted to offer early visibility.

He called the figures a baseline toward the medium-term goals set at the 2024 Investor Day: $3 billion of premium and $660 million of adjusted EBITDA. Asked by an analyst at Stephens for a timeline, he said, "I'm not going to tell you the specific timeline," though management has "a good sense" of it.

Ehrlichman said Porch does not need other acquisitions to get there, though deals like Allied can speed the pace. He recalled $7 million of adjusted EBITDA in 2024 and $77 million in 2025, against 2026 guidance now raised to $138 million from $102 million at the start of the year.

Raised 2026 outlook and the Allied deal

Porch raised the midpoint on every 2026 guidance measure. Adjusted EBITDA excluding the reciprocal is now guided to $135 million to $140 million, a 79% rise at the midpoint, up from 59% growth at the prior midpoint, CFO Shawn Tabak said. Revenue for Porch-owned segments is guided to $518 million to $523 million.

In the quarter, reciprocal policies written grew 42% to 68,000, and adjusted EBITDA excluding the reciprocal was $44 million, up 116%. Total revenue was $144 million, up 13%, and net income attributable to Porch was $12 million.

Allied carries about $200 million of aggregate consideration, or $140 million net of its statutory surplus. Porch expects to pay $95 million for Allied's managing general agency and captive reinsurance entities, $75 million in cash and $20 million in stock, and expects about $25 million of adjusted EBITDA from them in the first full year after closing. The reciprocal is paying $105 million for the insurance carrier.

Balance sheet and refinancing

Porch ended the quarter with $165 million in cash and investments, and net leverage fell to 2.4 times trailing adjusted EBITDA, inside its 2-to-3-times target range. Tabak said Allied adds a pro forma $25 million of EBITDA next year on top of the $138 million guidance midpoint, and that the company will look at refinancing its convertible notes ahead of maturity.

Porch manages the policyholder-owned Porch Reciprocal Exchange and earns fees from it. Reciprocal statutory surplus was $174 million.

Tabak said formal 2027 guidance will come in February, with fourth-quarter results.
