PDF Solutions Stock Soars 7.94% After Record Sales — Adding $116 Million In Market Value
Profit rose alongside record revenue, but contracted business fell below both its year-earlier and second-quarter levels.
PDF Solutions, which supplies software and hardware to help semiconductor companies improve production quality and efficiency, saw its shares soar 7.94% to $37.26 in Friday trading, as of 3:41 PM ET, adding $116 million in market value. The advance followed Thursday’s earnings release, which showed record quarterly sales and kept the company’s annual revenue growth target intact.
Record sales, smaller order book
A 20% annual sales increase put third-quarter 2026 revenue at $68.3 million. Net income was $6.8 million, compared with $1.3 million in the same quarter last year, the company said in its earnings release.
The record sales came alongside a smaller backlog — business already under contract. The order book holds $247.2 million (second-quarter: $270.7 million; year-earlier: $292.0 million).
An eProbe deployment in China
On Thursday’s earnings call, John Kibarian, PDF Solutions’ chief executive officer, outlined a plan to deploy an eProbe in China by late this year or early next.
PDF Solutions serves foundries, chip designers without factories, equipment manufacturers, and companies that assemble and test chips. Its products span Exensio analytics, Characterization Vehicle test-chip systems, DirectScan e-beam inspection, Cimetrix equipment connectivity and the secureWISE remote connectivity network.
The company earns platform revenue from software licenses, cloud subscriptions, engineering services and fixed system fees. A separate revenue category consists of volume-based fees tied to usage.
A rebound after a 38% slide
PDF Solutions entered Friday’s session having fallen 38% over the previous month through Thursday’s close. Its year-to-date gain through that close was still 21%, compared with the S&P 500’s 8% advance over the same period.
Friday’s move put PDFS shares on pace for their second gain of 7% or more this month in Friday trading, as of 3:41 PM ET. The company’s market value stood at $1.57 billion in Friday trading, as of 3:41 PM ET.
