Pan American Silver Director Chuck Jeannes Leaves Board October 31 To Chair Equinox Gold
Jeannes, a director since the 2019 Tahoe Resources deal, is stepping away to concentrate on his chair role at Equinox Gold Corp.
Pan American Silver director Charles (Chuck) Jeannes will retire from the board effective October 31, 2026, the company said Wednesday in a statement furnished to the SEC on Form 6-K. The company said he wants to focus on chairing Equinox Gold Corp., a post he took on July 31, 2026.
What the statement says
The release, dated October 7, 2026 in Vancouver, says Jeannes joined Pan American after it bought Tahoe Resources in 2019. It calls him an "invaluable member of the Board" since then.
Board Chair Gillian Winckler thanked him for his contributions over the past seven years. She said his leadership and guidance were "instrumental in the transformative growth of the Company."
CEO Michael Steinmann said Jeannes "brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Board." The release gives no successor and no replacement plan.
What it changes
Pan American loses a director who arrived with the Tahoe deal, which added the Escobal mine in Guatemala. The company's boilerplate says it owns 100% of Escobal and that the mine is currently not operating.
The release describes Pan American as a silver and gold producer with mines in Canada, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. It also holds a 44% joint venture interest in the producing Juanicipio mine in Mexico.
In market data, PAAS shares closed at $44.35 in regular trading Wednesday. They traded at $44.50 in Wednesday after-hours trading, up 0.34%. The company's market value stands at $19.0 billion.
What to watch
The retirement takes effect October 31, 2026.
Jeannes' departure date is October 31, 2026, and the release names no one to fill the seat.
