Kanen Wealth Management, led by managing member David Kanen, and two affiliated funds together hold 2,280,518 shares of Apyx Medical, about 5.4% of the company, according to a passive ownership filing (a Schedule 13G) made Wednesday. Apyx makes surgical devices for cosmetic surgery.
How the stake is split
The shares sit in two vehicles. Philotimo Fund, a Delaware limited partnership, holds 1,425,473 shares, about 3.4% of the class, and Philotimo Focused Growth & Income Fund, a series of World Funds Trust, holds 855,045 shares, about 2.0%.
Kanen Wealth Management is the general partner of Philotimo and the investment manager of the mutual fund. Kanen, as its managing member, may be deemed to beneficially own all 2,280,518 shares. Each reporting person says it is part of a group with the others, and each disclaims ownership of shares it does not directly own.
The filing lists October 21, 2026 as the date of event and gives holdings as of the close of business on October 27, 2026. Voting power over all the shares is shared; none of the reporting persons has sole voting power. The percentages use 42,124,023 shares outstanding as of August 5, 2026, the count in Apyx's quarterly report filed August 6, 2026.
A passive filing in a device maker
The filing is a Schedule 13G, which investors use for passive positions. The reporting persons certify that the shares were not acquired and are not held to change or influence control of Apyx.
Apyx, based in Clearwater, Florida, sells its Renuvion helium-plasma system and its AYON Body Contouring System, mainly through its own sales force in the US and through distributors abroad. It also makes generators and parts for other device makers. Surgical Aesthetics brought in 85.8% of 2025 revenue and the OEM segment 14.2%.
Apyx shares traded at $2.61 in Wednesday trading, up about 4% from the prior close of $2.50. The company's market value was about $105 million.
