Expand Energy Extends Its Credit Facility To September 2031, An 8-K Shows
The gas producer amended its revolving credit agreement with JPMorgan Chase Bank as agent, moving the end date out by one year.
Expand Energy gave itself one more year on its bank credit facility, according to an 8-K filed Tuesday. The maturity date moves from September 30, 2030 to September 30, 2031.
What the 8-K says
The company signed Amendment No. 1 on October 6, 2026. It changes the Amended and Restated Credit Agreement dated September 30, 2025, which is among Expand Energy, its lenders and JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., the administrative agent.
The filing describes the change in one sentence: the amendment extends the credit facility's maturity by one year. It does not state any other change to the agreement, and it says its own description is qualified by the full amendment text.
The amendment is filed as Exhibit 10.1. Expand Energy reported it under Item 1.01, which covers entry into a material definitive agreement, and under Item 2.03, which covers the creation of a direct financial obligation. The Item 2.03 section simply incorporates the Item 1.01 text by reference.
Marcel Teunissen, the company's executive vice president and chief financial officer, signed the report.
What it changes
The practical effect is a later due date. The facility now comes due a year after the date the September 2025 agreement had set.
The 8-K gives no figures on the facility's size, pricing or borrowings, so it does not show whether the company's debt load or borrowing costs moved.
On the market side, Expand Energy shares closed at $88.23 in Tuesday trading, up 2.08% from the prior session. The filing was accepted at 4:11 p.m. ET, after that move was complete, so the price change cannot be a reaction to the amendment.
The amendment text itself, filed as Exhibit 10.1, is where any terms beyond the one-year extension would appear.
