Camping World Says 2026 Adjusted EBITDA Will Miss Its $230 Million Floor, Closes Four Stores
An 8-K shows the RV retailer is cutting more staff, shutting four dealerships and exploring a refinancing of its term loan.
Camping World now expects full-year 2026 Adjusted EBITDA to land below the low end of its $230 million to $270 million guidance range, according to an 8-K dated Monday. The company is cutting headcount, closing four dealerships and looking at refinancing its term loan.
What the 8-K says
The filing, under Item 7.01 (Regulation FD disclosure), ties the shortfall to a slide in demand. Combined new and used unit sales softened from the prior quarter in July, as the company noted on its second quarter earnings call, and stayed soft through the quarter.
Competing dealers tried to bring inventory in line with weaker demand, which made new-vehicle pricing more promotional across the RV industry.
Unit sales declines have eased somewhat in August and September, the company said. But front-end margins on new vehicles are under more pressure than it expected, and energy prices and interest rates have turned less favorable.
The company says its outlook covers a broad range of outcomes given continued uncertainty about the economy and RV demand.
The cost response
Camping World has accelerated parts of its previously announced $100 million program of SG&A (selling, general and administrative) savings and efficiency measures.
It has also identified and carried out additional headcount reductions expected to produce at least $50 million in incremental annualized savings. The actions include closing four dealerships, two of which it currently intends to reopen later.
Management expects to enter the fourth quarter with a more streamlined cost structure.
The refinancing
The company is exploring a refinancing of its existing term loan to gain financial flexibility. Options are expected to include new term loans and other senior secured debt.
Completion depends on market conditions and signed definitive documentation. The filing says there is no assurance on terms, or that a deal will happen at all.
Shares closed at $5.03 at Friday's close (market data).
What to watch
Two things follow from the filing: whether Camping World reaches definitive documentation on a refinancing, and how the cost cuts show up in fourth-quarter results.
The filing was signed by Chief Financial Officer Thomas E. Kirn, and it gives no new Adjusted EBITDA figure, only that the number will fall below $230 million.
