BlackRock Unit Reports 6.6% Passive Stake In Shoals Technologies
BlackRock Portfolio Management holds 11,038,244 Class A shares of the solar equipment maker, and one BlackRock fund alone owns over 5%.
BlackRock Portfolio Management LLC, a BlackRock business unit, holds 11,038,244 Class A shares of Shoals Technologies Group, or 6.6% of the class, according to a passive ownership disclosure it filed Tuesday. The filing reflects a September 30, 2026 event date.
A passive position, with one fund above 5%
The unit has sole voting power over 11,023,547 shares and shared voting power over none. It certified that the shares are held in the ordinary course of business, not to change or influence control of Shoals.
The filing says one BlackRock fund, BGF Sustainable Energy Fund, owns more than 5% of Shoals common stock by itself. An exhibit lists the BlackRock subsidiaries covered, including BlackRock Fund Advisors and BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, and marks BlackRock (Luxembourg) S.A. as holding 5% or more of the class.
The 6.6% is the cover-page percentage, which counts shares the holder could acquire within 60 days in both its holding and the share base. The filing covers certain BlackRock business units, not businesses whose holdings BlackRock reports separately.
The company behind the shares
Shoals designs and manufactures the electrical equipment that carries power from solar panels and battery storage systems to inverters and the grid, and it is developing offerings for data center power systems, according to its annual report for 2025. Its products include wire harnesses, combiners, recombiners and disconnect switches.
It sells mainly to engineering, procurement and construction firms building large solar and battery projects, primarily in the United States. Its largest customer made up about 19.1% of 2025 revenue, and it runs factories in Tennessee and Alabama.
Shoals had a market value of $1.2 billion in Tuesday trading.
BlackRock's certification states the Shoals shares were not acquired to influence control of the company.
