A truck dealer with a bigger share count

Rush Truck Centers sell new and used trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles, and earn money from parts, service, collision repair, leasing, rental, and financing and insurance. According to its annual report, the company operates 126 franchised dealerships in 23 states and Ontario, Canada.

The company reported third-quarter revenue of $2.113 billion, up from $1.881 billion a year earlier, with net income of $78.0 million. It declared a three-for-two stock split in July, distributed August 31, so share counts in current filings reflect the larger base.

Rush shares closed at $45.48 on Tuesday, giving the company a market value of about $5.3 billion.

Rush's $0.14 quarterly dividend is payable December 10 to holders of record as of November 11.
