Bitmine Holds 4.9% Of All Ether, Says It Is 99% Of The Way To Its 5% Goal
The company's 8-K puts total holdings at $17.4 billion and projects $363 million in annual staking revenue.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies said in an 8-K filed Monday that it holds 6,016,414 ETH, or 4.9% of the total supply of 122.1 million, leaving it just short of its 5% target. The attached press release puts its crypto, cash, securities and "moonshot" holdings at $17.4 billion.
What the filing says
The figures are as of 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, with ether valued at $2,726 per token. Beyond ETH, the company lists 214 bitcoin, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, a $117 million stake in Eightco, and $643 million in cash and marketable securities.
Chairman Tom Lee said Bitmine bought 15,112 ETH over the past week. He said it has bought ETH every week since its treasury strategy began on June 30, 2025.
Staked ETH stands at 5,067,309 tokens, worth $13.8 billion. Lee put currently projected annualized staking revenue at $363 million. If all holdings were staked at the company's 2.63% seven-day yield, he said, the figure would be $431 million.
Lee's performance claims
Lee said BMNR shares fell 3% in the first nine months of 2026 while ETH fell 10%. He also called the company's purchase of 21 million shares this year the largest crypto treasury equity buyback ever.
In the release he said ETH outperformed the S&P 500 by 6,832 basis points in the third quarter. These are the chairman's own characterizations, not audited results.
The release says Bitmine was added to the Russell 1000 index on June 26, 2026, and that its Series A preferred trades on the NYSE as BMNP. It also says Bitmine is the largest ETH treasury, behind only Strategy among global crypto treasuries.
What to watch
Lee delivers the keynote at Token2049 in Singapore on Wednesday. Bitmine also plans to publish its October Chairman's Message this week.
BMNR shares traded at $26.69 in Monday pre-market trading, up 1.60% from Friday's close of $26.27 (market data).
The release's own risk list names volatile digital asset prices and the chance that actual staking yields differ materially from projections.
