WEC Energy Group raised and narrowed its 2026 earnings guidance to [$5.60 to $5.64 per share](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000783325/000078332526000104/a2026q3wecearningsreleasee.htm?ref=bullished.co), up from a prior range of $5.51 to $5.61, the Milwaukee utility said Thursday. It credited favorable weather and capital investment supported by Very Large Customers in Wisconsin.

## A quarter built on warm weather

Third-quarter net income was $389.3 million, or $1.18 per share, compared with $271.3 million, or 83 cents per share, a year earlier, the company reported in an [8-K](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000783325/000078332526000104/wec-20261029.htm?ref=bullished.co) earnings release.

For the first nine months, net income was $1.49 billion, or $4.54 per share, against $1.24 billion, or $3.85 per share. Consolidated revenues were $7.8 billion, up $523.9 million from the same period of 2025.

"Our strong results were driven by warmer-than-normal weather, execution of our capital plan and operating efficiency," said Scott Lauber, chairman, president and CEO.

## Weather flattered electricity demand

Retail electricity deliveries, excluding the Upper Peninsula iron ore mine and the Very Large Customers, rose 3.3% in the third quarter from a year earlier. Residential use rose 5.1%, small commercial and industrial customers used 3.5% more, and large commercial and industrial customers used 1.0% more.

On a weather-normal basis, those deliveries increased just 0.4%, which shows how much of the quarter's growth came from the heat.

## The utility behind the numbers

WEC is a holding company whose subsidiaries provide regulated natural gas and electricity and invest in renewable energy. It serves 4.8 million customers in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota, and has an approximately 60% stake in the transmission company ATC, according to its latest annual report.

The new guidance assumes normal weather for the rest of the year. WEC held a conference call at 1 p.m. Central time Thursday to review the quarter and outlook.

Management said it remains on track to deliver solid financial and operational performance in 2026.
