Vanguard Capital Management disclosed a [5% passive stake](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002100119/000210011926001658/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co) in Redwire, which builds spacecraft, solar arrays, drones and optical sensors, covering 12,513,016 common shares, in a Schedule 13G (a passive ownership disclosure) dated Friday. The event date was September 30.

## Inside the 12.5 million-share position

Vanguard Capital Management holds [sole voting power](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002100119/000210011926001658/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co) over 1,877,095 of the shares and shared voting power over none, and the filing lists it as an investment adviser. The 5% is the cover-page percent of class.

The filing certifies the shares were acquired and are held in the ordinary course of business, not to change or influence control of Redwire. It aggregates Vanguard Capital Management with affiliates including Vanguard Asset Management Limited, Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Company, Vanguard Global Advisers and Vanguard Investments Australia.

## A stock sliding into earnings

Redwire, based in Jacksonville, Florida, reports two segments: Space, and Defense Tech, which makes uncrewed aircraft and sensor payloads for the U.S. military and allied governments. Its customers include NASA, the European Space Agency and the U.S. Army, Air Force and Space Force.

A Zacks preview expects a third-quarter loss of $0.10 per share on revenue of $125.68 million, with the earnings estimate revised lower over the past 30 days. [Piper Sandler initiated coverage](https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/quote/RDW/?ref=bullished.co) on October 15 with a Neutral rating and an $11 price target, a Yahoo Finance page showed.

Redwire will [report third-quarter results](https://markets.ft.com/data/announce/detail?dockey=600-202610291630BIZWIRE%5FUSPRX%5F%5F%5F%5F20261029%5FBW841675-1&ref=bullished.co) after the market close on Wednesday, November 4, with a call at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, November 5, the company said.
