# Vanguard Capital Management Reports 5.15% Passive Stake In ProPetro

Vanguard Capital Management owns [5.15% of ProPetro](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002100119/000210011926001640/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co), or 6,330,929 shares, according to a passive ownership disclosure filed Friday. ProPetro, a Midland, Texas oilfield services company, reported third-quarter results on October 28.

## Voting power covers a fraction of the stake

Vanguard has [sole voting power](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002100119/000210011926001640/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co) over 933,164 of the shares and shared voting power over none, the filing shows. September 30, 2026 is the date of the event that triggered the report.

The 5.15% figure counts shares the holder could acquire within 60 days, in both the holding and the share base. Vanguard certified that it acquired and holds the shares in the ordinary course of business, not to change or influence control of [ProPetro](https://www.bullished.co/tag/pump/).

ProPetro shares traded at $7.71 in Friday trading, down about 2% from Thursday's close of $7.87, for a market value of $967 million.

## Hydraulic fracturing and a new power unit

ProPetro provides hydraulic fracturing, wireline, cementing and mobile power generation services, mainly to oil and gas producers in North America, with its work concentrated in the Permian Basin. Its PROPWR power unit supplies producers, industrial projects and data centers, and began generating revenue in the third quarter of 2025.

The company's third-quarter revenue was [$355 million](https://markets.ft.com/data/announce/detail?dockey=600-202610280700BIZWIRE%5FUSPRX%5F%5F%5F%5F20261028%5FBW871931-1&ref=bullished.co), up 16% from the prior quarter, and it said its completions capacity is essentially sold out. PROPWR has about 510 megawatts committed under contract, and the company expects to deploy more than 500 megawatts by early 2028.

Shares were down about 20.5% for the year ahead of that report, [according to Zacks](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/propetro-holding-pump-q3-earnings-113506026.html?.tsrc=rss&ref=bullished.co).

Management said on its earnings call that it [targets 250-275 megawatts](https://seekingalpha.com/news/4659432-propetro-targets-250minus-275-mw-deployed-by-end-of-2026-and-over-500-mw-by-early-2028-as?ref=bullished.co) of PROPWR capacity deployed by the end of 2026.
