# Timken Raises 2026 Earnings Outlook As Industrial Motion Sales Climb 12.4%

[Timken](https://www.bullished.co/tag/tkr/), which makes engineered bearings and industrial motion products, raised its 2026 earnings outlook after third-quarter sales [rose 4.7% to $1.21 billion](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000098362/000009836226000055/tkrq32026exhibit991.htm?ref=bullished.co), the company said Wednesday. Adjusted earnings reached $1.65 a share, up from $1.37 a year earlier.

## Industrial Motion drives the quarter

Standard-accounting earnings were $1.34 per diluted share, against $0.99 a year ago. Net income attributable to Timken was $93.8 million, and the net income margin was 7.7%, up from 6.0%.

Industrial Motion sales climbed 12.4% to $440.0 million, on higher demand across most end markets, revenue from the Bijur Delimon acquisition and higher pricing. Engineered Bearings sales edged up 0.7% to $771.4 million, mostly on pricing. Organically, total sales rose 2.8%.

Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, excluding special items) was $224.6 million, an 18.5% margin versus 17.4% a year ago. That figure includes a net $12.4 million benefit from refunds of tariffs imposed under IEEPA, the emergency-powers law. The company said the Engineered Bearings improvement was driven primarily by the tariff refunds, along with better price and mix and favorable currency.

## Belts sale and cash returns

Timken finished selling its belts business to Gates Industrial at the end of the quarter, a deal it expects to improve Industrial Motion's adjusted EBITDA margin. For the first nine months, it recorded $90.4 million of belts-related impairment, restructuring and reorganization charges, which is why adjusted profit runs well above reported profit.

Operating cash flow was $256.1 million and free cash flow was $221.4 million, up from $201.1 million and $163.8 million. The company returned $88.7 million to shareholders through dividends and buybacks of about 505 thousand shares. Net debt stood at 1.7 times adjusted EBITDA on September 30.

Timken, with about 19,000 employees, sells to industries from renewable energy and automation to rail, aerospace and mining.

## New range and a 2027 view

Timken now forecasts 2026 diluted earnings of $4.05 to $4.20 a share, or $6.35 to $6.50 adjusted, and plans for revenue up about 5.5% from 2025.

CEO Lucian Boldea said it is too early for a formal 2027 outlook, but the company currently expects organic sales to rise mid-single digits from 2026\. The company holds its earnings call at 11 a.m. Eastern Wednesday.

Boldea tied the raised outlook to the company's "Elevate to Outperform strategy," saying it gives confidence in 2026 and in "even stronger performance next year."
