# Ryanair Says It Will Fight Rivals' Irish High Court Bid To Suspend Its Air Operating Licence

Ryanair said it will vigorously oppose an Irish High Court action that seeks to suspend its air operating licence, according to a release dated 5 October and furnished to the SEC on Form 6-K. The case is brought by ENAA, a lobbying group led by Lufthansa and Air France/KLM and their subsidiary airlines.

## What the release says

Ryanair confirmed that ENAA is pursuing the case in the Irish High Court. The airline said the claim is aimed at grounding it by suspending its air operating licence.

The company said it ["fully complies with EU ownership and control requirements."](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1038683/000165495426008792/a6814x.htm?ref=bullished.co) It called ENAA's claim contrived and said it will oppose it vigorously.

Ryanair's argument is about motive. It said ENAA's members cannot compete with its low fares, and are instead trying to misuse the EU ownership and control rules to restrict competition and choice for EU air travel.

## What it changes for holders

The release gives no hearing date, no ruling and no financial estimate. It states a legal position: the licence is under challenge in court, and the airline says it will contest the case.

RYAAY was unchanged at $54.70 in Monday after-hours trading, a light, indicative reading (market data). The company's market value stood at $28.5 billion.
