# Pentair Sees Pool Sales Growing About 14% In 2027 With No Market Recovery

[Pentair](https://www.bullished.co/tag/pnr/), which makes pumps, water treatment systems and pool equipment, expects its pool sales to grow about 14% in 2027 without any help from the market, CEO John Stauch said on the company's third-quarter earnings call. The reason, he said, is that the [distributor inventory cleanout](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261027831767/en/Pentair-Reports-Third-Quarter-2026-Results?ref=bullished.co) that depressed 2026 shipments is now complete.

## A rebound built on arithmetic

Stauch said he expects 2027 sell-through, meaning pool sales to end customers, to stay about flat at roughly $1.45 billion. With shipments matching sell-through again, that implies about $180 million of sales growth, or about 14% against forecast 2026 pool sales.

He said "more modest price increases offsetting anticipated continued soft market conditions" underpin the flat sell-through view. Pentair told dealers to expect price increases of 3% to 4%, which Stauch called more moderate than last year's. He also guided to pool return on sales of about 30% for 2027.

Interim CFO Bob Fishman, who hands the job to incoming CFO Bob Howe on November 1, put numbers on the cleanout. The channel absorbed roughly $280 million of destocking across the second and third quarters, about $190 million in the second and $90 million in the third. That leaves channel inventory about $110 million below a year ago.

## A pool unit still in the hole

Pool sales fell 18% in the third quarter to $291 million, the company [reported](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261027831767/en/Pentair-Reports-Third-Quarter-2026-Results?ref=bullished.co), while segment income dropped 38% to $72 million. Fishman tied the lower return on sales, about 25%, to volume deleverage, inflation and spending on dealer service. Management expects full-year pool sales to fall about 18% to 19%.

Stauch said Pentair estimates 2026 sell-through at about $1.45 billion, up 2% to 3% from 2025\. On the new regional structure and four-pillar plan, he said he is a fan of the company's 80-20 customer-focus method but that it was "probably misutilized" in pool.

Pressed by an analyst on how the 2027 pool outlook splits between residential and commercial and between new builds and repair and replacement, Stauch said "not there yet." He corrected the figure to $1.45 billion and said Pentair has not yet talked to dealers about next year's opportunities.

## Formal 2027 guidance comes early next year

Pentair is the water company behind three segments: Flow, Water Solutions and Pool. Pool is the one under pressure, while the company reaffirmed the midpoint of its full-year adjusted earnings guidance of about $4.70 per share.

Stauch said the formal 2027 outlook, including share and market assumptions, will come on the fourth-quarter call early next year.

Until then, Stauch told analysts the $1.45 billion figure is only a starting point, and that the company expects to do better.
