[Ouster](https://www.bullished.co/tag/oust/), which makes digital lidar sensors, cameras and perception software for machines, said third-quarter revenue rose 50% from a year earlier to [$59 million](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001816581/000162828026069487/exhibit991-9302026.htm?ref=bullished.co), up 9% from the second quarter, in an [8-K filed Tuesday](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001816581/000162828026069487/oust-20261103.htm?ref=bullished.co). The net loss narrowed to $14 million, while gross margin fell from the prior quarter.

## Growth up, margin down sequentially

Product revenue was $56 million, up 42% from a year earlier and 6% from the second quarter, which the company attributed mainly to industrial and robotics customers in warehouse automation, defense, construction, mapping and data collection. Royalties added the rest of the total.

Ouster shipped more than 27,000 lidar and camera units for revenue, with lidar about 27% of the total. The company billed the quarter as its 15th straight of product revenue growth.

Standard-accounting gross margin was 43%, versus 42% a year earlier and 49% in the second quarter, which a one-time refund had lifted by about 1,000 basis points (10 percentage points). Adjusted gross margin was 47%, flat from a year ago and down from 53% in the second quarter.

## Losses narrow, cash pile grows

The net loss was $14 million, $8 million better than a year earlier and $4 million better than the second quarter. The adjusted EBITDA loss, which strips out items such as stock pay and acquisition charges, was $3 million, an improvement of $5 million from a year earlier.

Ouster held $421 million in cash, restricted cash and short-term investments at September 30\. In the first nine months of 2026 it took in $191.85 million, net, from an underwritten stock offering and $97.985 million from its at-the-market share sales. It also paid $27.493 million, net of cash acquired, for Stereolabs.

CEO Angus Pacala said Stereolabs cameras had a record quarter of shipments. He also said "hundreds of customers have already chosen Rev8," the company's new lidar, and that deliveries should accelerate into 2027.

## Fourth-quarter outlook

For the fourth quarter, Ouster expects revenue of $61 million to $64 million. Management is scheduled to appear at the ROTH Technology Conference in New York on November 18 and the virtual Northland Growth Conference on December 16.

Ouster hosted its earnings call at 5:00 p.m. ET Tuesday.
