# Oracle Stock Surges 6%, Adding $23 Billion, After Monday's $2 Billion Notes Filing

[Oracle](https://www.bullished.co/tag/orcl/) shares climbed 6.42% to $126.87 in Tuesday trading, as of 1:35 p.m. ET, adding about $23 billion in market value the session after the company filed a [$2.00 billion notes offering](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001341439/000119312526443918/d87441dfwp.htm?ref=bullished.co) on Monday.

## A rally built through the session

Oracle had traded as low as $120.64 earlier Tuesday, so the gain grew as the day went on rather than at the open. The stock was on pace for its biggest one-day gain since October 28, when it rose 10.7%.

The move followed Monday's free-writing prospectus, the document that sets out terms of a planned debt sale, covering the $2.00 billion of notes. Market value stood at $384.6 billion in the session.

## Still 39% down for the year

The rebound leaves much of the damage in place. As of Monday's close, Oracle shares were down about 39% year to date, while the S&P 500 was up about 10%, and the stock had fallen 16% over the prior month. Before Tuesday's session it sat 54% below its highest close of the past year.

Oracle sells software, cloud services and hardware that businesses use to run their IT systems, including cloud applications, the Oracle database and cloud infrastructure for AI workloads. Cloud revenue was 51% of its total in fiscal 2026.

## Fast growth, negative free cash flow

In its [September results](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001341439/000119312526387905/orcl-ex99%5F1.htm?ref=bullished.co), Oracle said total revenue rose 30% to $19.3 billion and cloud infrastructure revenue rose 121% to $7.4 billion. Free cash flow was negative $5 billion as it kept investing in capacity for that business.

Remaining performance obligations, contracted future revenue not yet recognized, stood at [$664 billion](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001341439/000119312526387905/orcl-ex99%5F1.htm?ref=bullished.co), up $209 billion from a year earlier. Oracle said it booked more than $30 billion of new AI cloud contracts in the quarter, and that it completed a $20 billion common stock sale through an at-the-market program.

For the second quarter, it guided to total revenue growth of 30% to 34%. For fiscal 2027 it expects revenue of at least $90 billion.

Oracle is scheduled to report its next quarterly results on Tuesday, December 8.
