# Lyell's Lymphoma CAR-T Shows 77% Complete Responses, While Quarterly Loss Widens To $45.5 Million

[Lyell Immunopharma](https://www.bullished.co/tag/lyel/), a late-stage company developing CAR T-cell therapies for cancer, said its lymphoma candidate ronde-cel produced a [77% complete response rate](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001806952/000162828026070161/lyel-20261104x8kexx991.htm?ref=bullished.co) in 44 efficacy-evaluable patients in its pivotal trial. The company reported the data Wednesday alongside a third-quarter net loss of $45.5 million, up from $38.8 million a year earlier.

## Responses that held up

In the third-or-later-line PiNACLE pivotal trial, the overall response rate was 91%. The median duration of complete response and median progression-free survival were not reached. Estimated continued complete response was 92% at six months and 75% at 12 months.

No Grade 3 or higher cytokine release syndrome, a known immune-overreaction side effect, was observed. Grade 3 or higher ICANS, a neurological side effect, was reported in 9% of patients.

Updated data from more than 80 patients, including a second-line cohort, will be presented at the American Society of Hematology meeting, December 12–15\. CEO Lynn Seely said the results "clearly showcase the next-generation potential of ronde-cel."

## Trial spending drives the loss

Research and development expense rose $12.7 million to $40.9 million, which the company attributed to more clinical trial activity. General and administrative costs fell to $9.3 million from $10.7 million. A $4.0 million prior-year charge tied to a securities purchase agreement put/call did not recur.

On an adjusted basis, which excludes stock-based pay and fair-value changes, the net loss was $41.3 million, versus $29.1 million a year earlier. For the first nine months, the net loss was $114.4 million, against $133.7 million a year earlier.

## Cash into 2028, pivotal data mid-2027

Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities were $194.0 million at September 30, down from $247.2 million at December 31, 2025\. With net proceeds from an $80.0 million private placement announced in November, Lyell expects to fund operations into 2028.

Ronde-cel targets both CD19 and CD20 on cancer cells. It is also in PiNACLE-H2H, a Phase 3 randomized trial against approved CAR-T therapies in second-line lymphoma. Pivotal PiNACLE data are expected in mid-2027, with an FDA license application to follow in the second half of 2027\. Seely said enrollment in PiNACLE should be complete by year end.

Lyell also completed transfer of manufacturing of its colorectal cancer candidate LYL273 to its own facility in Bothell, Washington, in September. More clinical data and an end-of-Phase 1 FDA meeting are expected in 2027.

The next marker is ASH in mid-December, where Lyell will present the updated ronde-cel data.
