# Logitech Warns A Chip Supplier's Plant Shutdown Will Cost $70 Million To $80 Million In Third-Quarter Sales

[Logitech](https://www.bullished.co/tag/logi/), which designs computer accessories such as mice, keyboards, webcams and gaming gear, expects third-quarter sales of [$1,360 million to $1,430 million](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001032975/000103297526000059/exhibit991q2fy27.htm?ref=bullished.co), or -5% to 0% in constant currency. The range includes an estimated hit of about $70 million to $80 million from a serious incident at one of its semiconductor suppliers, the company said Tuesday as it reported its eleventh consecutive quarter of growth.

## A supplier plant still below capacity

The supplier's facility closed at the end of June after the incident, then opened in September and began ramping up, Logitech said. Its current capacity is below what Logitech requires, and the company expects full production by the end of the calendar year.

Logitech expects the sales impact to be largely resolved by the fourth quarter. Its outlook for third-quarter adjusted operating income is $220 million to [$255 million](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261027364169/en/Logitech-Announces-Q2-Fiscal-Year-2027-Results?ref=bullished.co), against $231 million in the second quarter. In US dollars, it guides to sales of -4% to 1%.

## A quarter of growth, with soft spots

Second-quarter sales were [$1.22 billion](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261027364169/en/Logitech-Announces-Q2-Fiscal-Year-2027-Results?ref=bullished.co), up 3% in US dollars and 2% in constant currency from a year earlier. Video Collaboration rose 12% and Gaming rose 8% to $349.3 million. Tablet Accessories fell 32% and Webcams fell 9%.

Adjusted gross margin was 45.2%, up 140 basis points (1.4 percentage points). Adjusted operating income was $231 million, up 0.4%, and adjusted earnings per share were $1.51, up 4%. Standard-accounting operating income rose 5% to $201 million, and EPS rose 9% to $1.25.

CEO Hanneke Faber said the company "launched 19 new products for the holiday quarter." CFO Matteo Anversa said gross margins drove adjusted operating income "well ahead of our outlook."

## Cash returned to holders

Logitech returned $406 million to shareholders in the quarter through its annual dividend and share buybacks. Cash flow from operations was $164 million, and the quarter ended with $1.51 billion in cash.

The company, which sells through retailers, online sellers, distributors and its own store, held a results videoconference Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Pacific time.

The next test is the supplier's plant: Logitech says it should reach full production by the end of the calendar year.
