The new filing adds the change in the reinvestment assertion to that list. The adjusted effective tax rate was 21.6%, against 27.8% as reported. Reported diluted earnings per share rose 19% to $2.63, and adjusted earnings per share rose 21% to $2.98. ## Welding demand and the cash position Net sales [rose 15.1%](https://seekingalpha.com/news/4657783-lincoln-electric-non-gaap-eps-of-298-beats-by-017-revenue-of-122b-beats-by-50m?ref=bullished.co) to $1.22 billion, with organic sales up 14.5%, led by volume. Operating income margin reached 17.3%, and 18.0% on an adjusted basis. Cash held by international subsidiaries was $179,018 thousand at September 30, down from $181,012 thousand at June 30\. Total cash was $283,237 thousand, and the $1,050,065 thousand of revolving credit facilities was undrawn. The company expects 2026 capital spending of $140,000 thousand to $150,000 thousand, up from a prior range of $110,000 thousand to $130,000 thousand. Over nine months it repaid $143,889 thousand of short-term borrowings and spent $232,189 thousand buying back stock. ## Dividend raised, 4.3 million shares left The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.87 per share, up 10.1% from the prior quarter's payout, payable January 15, 2027 to holders of record on December 31, 2026\. About 4.3 million shares remain under the buyback authorization, down from 4.6 million at June 30. Trade payables to suppliers in the company's supplier financing program were $31,695 thousand at September 30, versus $25,709 thousand at December 31.
