[GSK](https://www.bullished.co/tag/gsk/) said Monday that its licensor Hansoh Pharmaceutical's late-stage trial of the cancer drug risvutatug rezetecan (Ris-Rez) in relapsed osteosarcoma met its main goal, [cutting the risk of progression or death by 67%](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1131399/000165495426009141/a4463a.htm?ref=bullished.co) versus chemotherapy. The results will support a regulatory submission by Hansoh in China.

## 5.5 months versus 1.4

The ARTEMIS-011 trial enrolled patients in China whose osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, had progressed or relapsed after at least two prior lines of systemic therapy. Median progression-free survival, the time before the disease worsened or the patient died, was [5.5 months](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1131399/000165495426009141/a4463a.htm?ref=bullished.co) on Ris-Rez and 1.4 months on chemotherapy, as judged by an Independent Review Committee.

The hazard ratio was 0.33 (95% CI, 0.20-0.55; p<0.0001) after a median follow-up of 7.1 months. Patients were randomised 1:1 to Ris-Rez at 12.0 mg/kg or to gemcitabine plus docetaxel.

The 12 mg/kg dose is higher than the 8 mg/kg used in an earlier small-cell lung cancer trial, chosen to account for potential difficulty in penetrating bone tissue. Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events hit 93% of Ris-Rez patients versus 83% on chemotherapy, mostly blood-related. Treatment was discontinued by 4% versus 2%.

The late-breaking data were presented in a Presidential Symposium at the ESMO Congress 2026.

## A growing Ris-Rez program

Ris-Rez is an antibody-drug conjugate aimed at the B7-H3 protein, which is highly expressed in more than 10 solid tumour types. GSK holds exclusive rights to develop and sell it outside mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and says more than 1,000 patients have received it in its global EMBOLD program. GSK's ambition is to develop it across more than 40 indications by 2040.

Hesham Abdullah, GSK's Senior Vice President and Global Head of Oncology R&D, called this Hansoh's second positive phase III study in China and said that for relapsed osteosarcoma, "treatment options are extremely limited."

Lu Xie, the trial's principal investigator at Peking University, said patients whose disease returns after multiple treatments have no approved therapies and no clearly established standard of care.

## Global sarcoma study continues

GSK's phase Ib/II EMBOLD Sarcoma-202 study in previously treated advanced sarcomas, including osteosarcoma, is ongoing, with ARTEMIS-011 data helping inform dose selection in a global population. The program also includes phase III trials in small cell lung cancer and prostate cancer, with more planned.

GSK shares traded at $51.17, up 0.83%, in Monday trading, for a market value of $101.7 billion.

Hansoh's China filing is the next step for the drug, while GSK's global phase II sarcoma trial continues.
