# Franklin Templeton Now Holds 5.1% Of Vontier, With 6.8 Million Shares

Franklin Templeton, the asset manager formerly called Franklin Resources, holds [6,844,155 shares](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000038777/000003877726000282/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co) of [Vontier](https://www.bullished.co/tag/vnt/), or 5.1% of the common stock, according to a passive ownership filing (Schedule 13G) dated Wednesday. Vontier makes equipment, software and services for fueling sites, car washes, EV charging networks, fleets and auto repair shops.

## Who holds the 6.8 million shares

Most of the stake sits with Franklin Mutual Advisers, which holds [3,949,126 shares](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000038777/000003877726000282/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co). Brandywine Global Investment Management holds 1,459,333, and Franklin Advisers holds 1,078,441\. Franklin Advisory Services holds 81,180.

The filing lists several Fiduciary Trust units with smaller positions. Clients of the investment subsidiaries, including registered investment companies and other managed accounts, have the right to receive dividends and sale proceeds from the shares.

Franklin has sole voting authority over 6,574,137 shares and shared voting authority over 30,145\. Charles B. Johnson and Rupert H. Johnson, Jr., who are also named as reporting persons, each report zero shares.

## A passive stake under a new name

The filing's event date is September 30, 2026\. Franklin certifies the shares were acquired and are held in the ordinary course of business, not to change or influence control of Vontier.

Franklin Resources was renamed Franklin Templeton effective August 17, 2026, the filing's cover note says.

Vontier's business spans three segments: Mobility Technologies, Repair Solutions (Matco Tools) and Environmental & Fueling Solutions, which includes Gilbarco Veeder-Root. It is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

## Vontier's shares in Wednesday trading

Vontier shares traded at $34.81 in Wednesday trading, up 0.23% from the prior close of $34.73, for a market value of about $4.7 billion.

A Zacks commentary on [Yahoo Finance](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/value-investors-buy-vontier-vnt-124003974.html?.tsrc=rss&ref=bullished.co) rated the stock Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), with an A grade for value. It argued the shares look cheap against industry averages on price-to-sales and price-to-cash-flow measures.

Vontier shares closed the prior session at $34.73 before Wednesday's 0.23% gain to $34.81.
