Bob's Discount Furniture, which sells lower-priced home furnishings, grew third-quarter sales [10.3% to $680.4 million](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002085187/000162828026070532/bobs-20261105.htm?ref=bullished.co), but adjusted earnings per diluted share fell to $0.28 from $0.29 a year earlier. The retailer reported the results Thursday in an earnings release accompanying its SEC filing, keeping its full-year sales and profit forecasts unchanged.

## More Stores, Bigger Orders

New locations and growth across comparable stores and online pushed revenue above the year-earlier $616.9 million. Bob's opened 11 stores during the quarter, ending September 27, 2026, with 229 locations across 28 states.

Comparable sales rose 3.8%. Customers placed larger orders and online traffic increased, although fewer shoppers visited stores.

Bill Barton, president and chief executive officer of Bob's Discount Furniture, said, "Industry demand trends remained [relatively stable](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002085187/000162828026070532/ex991-earningsreleasexq320.htm?ref=bullished.co) during the quarter, while customers continued to respond to our value proposition." Barton also singled out the newest stores' performance and the company's entry into Nashville.

Bob's sells furniture for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, along with mattresses and home décor. Customers can order through showrooms, its website, phone or mobile app; merchandise sales, protection plans and delivery fees generate revenue, with third-party partners making most home deliveries.

## Refunds Helped, Costs Bit

Quarterly net income increased 28.8% to $41.7 million from $32.3 million. Adjusted net income, which excludes tariff refunds and other adjustments, rose 18.5% to $38.8 million from $32.7 million.

The per-share picture was weaker on that adjusted basis. Reported diluted earnings rose to $0.31 from $0.29, but adjusted diluted earnings slipped as the weighted-average diluted share count reached 136,226,988, compared with 112,892,175 a year earlier.

Tariff refunds added [$4.9 million](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002085187/000162828026070532/ex991-earningsreleasexq320.htm?ref=bullished.co) to gross profit, which increased 11.3% to $316.0 million. Reported gross margin reached 46.4%; excluding refunds, the margin fell to 45.7% from 46.0% as inventory, fuel and tariff costs increased. A greater share of sales from the "Best" product category, improved delivery margins and selective price changes partly offset those costs.

Overhead rose 7.6% to $250.1 million, with store payroll, occupancy, marketing and depreciation costs increasing. Lower incentive pay partly offset those expenses. Overhead nevertheless took 36.7% of revenue, down from 37.7% a year earlier.

## Cash Supports The Store Build-Out

Operations generated $204.8 million during the first nine months, an $86.0 million increase that the company attributed primarily to higher profit and supplier-payment timing. Capital spending after landlord allowances totaled $70.7 million, largely for new stores and early work on a Georgia distribution center.

At September 27, 2026, Bob's had $109.9 million in cash and $178.0 million in available borrowing capacity, for total liquidity of $287.9 million. Inventory stood at $373.6 million, 6.7% above year-end.

Management maintained its 2026 revenue forecast of $2,600 million to $2,625 million and net income forecast of $145 million to $153 million. The profit forecast includes year-to-date tariff refunds; the adjusted net income forecast of $121 million to $129 million excludes them.

Bob's lowered expected store-opening expenses to approximately $23 million from approximately $26 million, while raising its expected effective tax rate to approximately 28% from approximately 27%. The company still expects approximately 20 new stores and net capital spending of $110 million to $115 million.

The 2026 forecast includes a 53rd fiscal week, which management expects to contribute $46.0 million in revenue and $4.4 million in net income.
