BlackRock holds [2,075,291 shares](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002012383/000201238326003736/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co) of [Crescent Biopharma](https://www.bullished.co/tag/cbio/), a 5.6% stake, according to a passive ownership filing (a Schedule 13G) submitted Tuesday. Crescent is a clinical-stage biotech developing cancer therapies.

## A passive holder with sole voting power

BlackRock reported sole voting power over 2,034,925 of the shares and shared voting power over none. It filed as a parent holding company, and the filing gives September 30, 2026 as the date of the event that triggered it.

By signing, BlackRock certified that, to the best of its knowledge, the shares were acquired and are held in the ordinary course of business. It also certified they were not acquired to change or influence control of the company.

The 5.6% is the cover-page figure, which counts securities the holder can acquire within 60 days in both its holding and the share base. The filing adds that various persons have the right to receive dividends or sale proceeds from the stock, and that no one person's interest exceeds 5% of the outstanding shares.

## Five BlackRock units behind the position

An [exhibit](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2012383/000201238326003736/Item%5F7.txt?ref=bullished.co) names the business units whose holdings are covered: BlackRock Advisors, BlackRock Fund Advisors, BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, BlackRock Financial Management and BlackRock Investment Management.

## The cancer-drug developer

Crescent's lead candidate, CR-001, is an antibody built to bind two targets at once, PD-1 and VEGF. The company started a global early-to-mid-stage trial in solid tumors in the first quarter of 2026, according to its annual report, and has no clinical data from patients treated with CR-001.

It is also building antibody drug conjugates, which carry a toxin to cancer cells, including CR-002 and CR-003\. Kelun-Biotech, a Chinese biotech partner, holds CR-001 rights in Greater China and gave Crescent rights to CR-003 outside that region.

The company's market value was $474 million as of Tuesday's report.

The filing puts BlackRock's sole voting power at 2,034,925 shares, the portion of its 2,075,291-share position it can vote on its own.
