# BlackRock Now Holds 5.1% Of IAMGOLD, 28.97 Million Shares

BlackRock, the asset manager, holds [28,969,169 shares](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002012383/000201238326003724/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co) of [IAMGOLD](https://www.bullished.co/tag/iag/), or 5.1% of the common stock, according to a passive ownership filing (a Schedule 13G) submitted Tuesday. The event date in the filing is September 30, 2026.

## A passive stake, by BlackRock's certification

BlackRock has sole voting power over 27,604,230 of the shares and shared voting power over none. The 5.1% figure is the percentage of the class shown on the filing's cover page.

BlackRock certified that the shares were acquired and are held in the ordinary course of business, not to change or influence control of IAMGOLD. That certification is what qualifies the position for the passive form rather than an activist investor disclosure.

IAMGOLD's market value was $9.3 billion on Tuesday, according to market data.

## Which BlackRock units hold the shares

The position is reported for certain BlackRock business units rather than the whole firm. Various clients have the right to receive dividends or sale proceeds from the stock. The filing says no single person's interest exceeds 5% of IAMGOLD's outstanding common shares.

IAMGOLD is based at 150 King Street West in Toronto, and BlackRock's filing lists the company's common stock under CUSIP 450913108.
