BlackRock reported a [5.1% stake](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0002012383/000201238326003764/xslSCHEDULE%5F13G%5FX01/primary%5Fdoc.xml?ref=bullished.co) in [BridgeBio Pharma](https://www.bullished.co/tag/bbio/), a passive holding of 9,892,226 common shares, in a Schedule 13G filed Tuesday. The filing gives September 30, 2026 as the event date and says the shares are held in the ordinary course of business.

## Voting power and passive intent

BlackRock has sole voting power over 9,576,011 of the shares and no shared voting power, according to the filing. The 5.1% is measured against the class under the SEC's Rule 13d-3 counting basis.

A Schedule 13G is the passive ownership disclosure. In it, BlackRock certified that the shares were acquired and are held in the ordinary course of business, not to change or influence control of BridgeBio.

The filing also says various persons have the right to receive dividends or sale proceeds from the stock. No one person's interest exceeds 5% of the outstanding common shares, it says.

## Which BlackRock units are covered

The stake is a combined figure for certain BlackRock business units, not one fund. An [exhibit](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2012383/000201238326003764/Item%5F7.txt?ref=bullished.co) lists the units, among them BlackRock Fund Advisors and BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, National Association, along with several international BlackRock entities.

## The Palo Alto drugmaker

BridgeBio, based in Palo Alto, develops and sells medicines for people with genetic diseases. Its largest product is acoramidis, a pill for a heart condition called transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy, sold in the US as Attruby. In 2025, Attruby brought in $362.4 million in US net product revenue, according to the company's annual report.

Partners sell the drug as Beyonttra in Europe (Bayer) and Japan (Alexion). The company also has late-stage candidates for achondroplasia, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2I/R9, and autosomal dominant hypocalcemia type 1.

BridgeBio's market value was $13.3 billion as of Tuesday's report.

BlackRock's certification states that it holds the shares in the ordinary course of business, with no purpose of influencing control of BridgeBio.
