Altria signed an agreement effective Wednesday that pushes the expiration of its [$3.0 billion senior unsecured revolving credit facility](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000764180/000076418026000105/mo-20261007.htm?ref=bullished.co) from October 24, 2029 to October 24, 2030, according to an 8-K filed Friday. The filing says every other term of the credit agreement stays in force.

## What the 8-K says

The 8-K, filed under Item 1.01 (entry into a material definitive agreement), describes a "2026 Extension Agreement" that amends Altria's five-year revolving credit agreement dated October 24, 2023\. A revolving credit facility is a line of credit the company can borrow against and repay as needed.

The facility had already been extended once. An earlier extension agreement took effect July 23, 2025, and the filing defines the "Credit Agreement" as the 2023 document as previously extended.

JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. and Citibank, N.A. act as administrative agents, alongside the lenders named in the agreement. The filing attaches the extension agreement as Exhibit 10.1.

The filing also says some of the lenders and their affiliates have other relationships with Altria and its subsidiaries, providing financial services including cash management, investment banking and trust services.

## What it changes

The change is one thing: the end date, moved back by one year. The facility's size stays at $3.0 billion, and the filing states that all other terms and conditions remain in full force and effect.

For holders, nothing in the filing shows new borrowing or a change in the amount available. It shows the same backstop line staying in place for a longer period.

In market data from Friday's 8:31 a.m. ET pre-market reading, Altria shares were at $71.42, up 2.94% from the prior close. The filing does not tie that move to the extension.

The extension took effect Wednesday, and the 8-K was signed Friday by Mary C. Bigelow, Altria's vice president, corporate secretary and associate general counsel.
