# Advanced Energy Revenue Jumps 50% To $696 Million, Topping Its Own Forecast On Chip And Data Center Demand

[Advanced Energy](https://www.bullished.co/tag/aeis/), which makes precision power products that turn raw electricity into usable power for complex equipment, said third-quarter [revenue of $696 million](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000927003/000092700326000037/aeis-ex99d1.htm?ref=bullished.co) rose 50% from a year earlier and cleared the high end of its own guidance. The company reported the results Monday, with record semiconductor and data center computing sales leading the way.

## Chips and data centers lead

Semiconductor equipment revenue reached a record, growing 64% from a year earlier, and data center computing, also a record, grew 49%, the company said in its release. Semiconductor equipment sales were $322.2 million and data center computing $256.2 million, against $196.6 million and $171.6 million a year ago.

Revenue was [$574 million](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261102073709/en/Advanced-Energy-Reports-Third-Quarter-2026-Results?ref=bullished.co) in the second quarter and $463 million in the third quarter of 2025\. Industrial and medical sales were $90.5 million and telecom and networking $27.5 million.

CEO Steve Kelley said revenue in each market grew both sequentially and from a year earlier, and that the company is "confident in our ability to gain share and outgrow our markets." He said the Thailand factory ramp is on track and that new products should add revenue in 2027.

## Margins widen, earnings double

Earnings from continuing operations were [$2.80 per diluted](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261102073709/en/Advanced-Energy-Reports-Third-Quarter-2026-Results?ref=bullished.co) share, or $116 million, compared with $1.21 a share a year earlier and $1.29 in the second quarter. Adjusted earnings were $3.65 a share, above the top of guidance, against $1.74 a year ago and $2.74 last quarter.

Gross margin, the share of sales left after production costs, was 41.5% by standard accounting and 42.1% on an adjusted basis, up from 37.6% and 39.1% a year earlier. Cash flow from continuing operations was $66 million, and the company paid $4 million in dividends.

After quarter-end, it repurchased $30 million of stock in October at an average $240.77 a share.

## Fourth-quarter outlook and a $1.4 billion cash pile

For the fourth quarter, Advanced Energy guided to revenue of $735 million, plus or minus $25 million, and adjusted earnings of $3.90 a share, plus or minus $0.30\. Standard-accounting earnings from continuing operations are guided to $3.30, plus or minus $0.30.

Cash and equivalents stood at $1.42 billion on September 30, up from $791.2 million at the end of 2025\. During the nine months the company raised $1.13 billion from new 2031 convertible notes and paid $440.9 million to settle its 2028 notes; long-term debt was $1.13 billion.

Management holds its earnings call at 4:30 p.m. ET Monday.

The company's guidance range for fourth-quarter revenue runs from $710 million to $760 million.
